Saturday 1 July 2017 – Park Day 11 am to 4 pm
A Grand Day Out in Silsden Park – lots going on, including children’s cycling and tennis, Keighley and District Model Engineering Society miniature steam engine rides, a chance to try out crown green bowls with Silsden Playing Fields Bowling Club, Silsden Singers, Silsden Town Band, the dog walkers’ dog show, bubbles, Punch and Judy, fun running races and much more.
Saturday 8 July 2017 7 pm ‘Bier und Bratwurst’ – St James Church
St James Church presents an evening of German-themed entertainment – tickets at £7 adults (£15 family) – to include food and one drink. For tickets contact St James Church on 01535 652204
Sunday 9 July 2017 2.30 pm to 4.30pm Silsden Town Band Concert at the Band Stand
Our wonderful Silsden Town Band plays a traditional Sunday afternoon open air concert, with refreshments available at Carmel House in the interval. Organised by Churches Together in Silsden with grateful thanks to Silsden Town Band for their support throughout the Grand deParty.
Saturday 15 July 2017 – lots happening
9.30am to Noon – Silsden Local History Group coffee morning and exhibition in the Town Hall – where you can set off on a Silsden local history trail (pick up your guide at this event). Also, the Silsden churches will be open.
10.30am to 4 pm – SANDS (still birth and neo natal death charity) fund-raising fun rugby match at the Park. The match kicks off at 1.30pm but there will be lots of other things going on.
11 am Silsden’s Annual Duck ‘Do’
7.30pm to 9.30pm Silsden Singers 20th anniversary concert – at the Town Hall (doors open at 7 pm) Guest instrumental group Ffidl-di-ri. Also – Raffle, Refreshments, (including cake !). Ticket prices – £5 adults, £2 Under 16s. Tickets from Twigg’s Newsagent and Post Office. Surplus funds to be donated to the Samaritans.
Week commencing 15 July
There will be a programme of timed guided tours of St.James churchyard, organised by Silsden Local History Group, to ‘meet our Silsden ancestors’. Limited numbers on each tour (which will all be in the afternoon) so participation needs to be by ticket only (£1 payable on the tour). Tickets can be collected at Twiggs Newsagents and Post Office during the week starting Saturday 8 July.
Sunday 30 July – Silsden Gala
Gala Parade assembles at noon for a 1 pm parade start time – then into the Park (admission £1) for lots to see and do.
